All too often we take for granted what comes naturally for most kiddos. For example, eye contact and spontaneous affection. These things don't always come natural for Valerie. Especially the eye contact. As we continue to learn how to eat gluten free we are watching for signs of change. Gluten is a tough one because it can remain in your body for, some research says, ten months. But this morning, as I sat in the front windows with my coffee and Ju on my lap, Valerie came over to the window and blew me a kiss through the glass. It made me wish the bus would never come and that I could just bring her in and love on her all day!
I'm not suggesting that she's never done this, but the change that I am MAYBE seeing is one of being more connected interpersonally. I'm not sure yet, but I'll keep watching and writing and hopefully will find something that will make the effort worth it.

We are eagerly awaiting our friends arrival this evening. Kim, Ed, and Petra will be visiting us this weekend to celebrate Jade's birthday with us. We love Kim and Ed so much. They are the couple that joined us on our journey across the Great Wall of China. The four of us worshiped our Lord high on the wall as we sang How Great Is Our God with Chris Tomlin on Julie's borrowed iPod. We shared the earphones and we all sang and sang. What a sweet memory.
Little Petra is such a hoot! I can't wait to share the pictures that are sure to come. She's the tiniest of all of our girls; she risks being thrown across the room when she's picked up by an adult! She's one of those kids that God filled with air. :D Did I mention that she's beautiful? Oh yea, just amazingly beautiful and fun! It's going to be a great weekend. Jaden is about to come out of her skin waiting. They have a five hour drive and so we hope to see them near seven tonight.

The planning for our "Chinese Sisters Plus Levi Birthday Party" is well underway. Tomorrow is the big party and I think we've thought of everything! Now to implement the plan.
Pictures to come!
There will be more writings about my Bear as I try to figure out if we're making an improvement or not. I sure do love her and pray good things for her!
Until next time........
