Around here we have kids with immunity low enough that they catch everything that comes down the pike and we have kids that don't seem to catch anything. Even when it's already in the house. Unfortunately, Valerie seems to be more at risk that anyone. We currently have a virus in the house; high fevers, headaches, sore throat, and body aches. Valerie had it once and then seemed to recover and now, after two days of no fever, she has fevers that are nearing 103. Thankfully the medication gets them down quickly, but geesh!, give my girl a break already.
We're watching her lungs closely for any involvement and, so far, they are doing well. She's got a few squeaks in her right lower lobes, but nothing that isn't normal for her and she's still blowing green to high yellow. I'm grateful for that. I need to get her well though because ragweed is around the corner. I remember ragweed last year.....it made an impression. She needs to go into ragweed season strong. We almost ended up in the hospital last year.
It was only two years ago that I thought Valerie was possibly growing out of all of this. How foolish. I don't think my sweetheart is ever going to grow out of all of this. I hate to think of it, but this may be a life long walk for her. Let's hope these allergy shots help some. I'll go every single week until forever if they help her down the road.
Up at 2:30 am after taking care of you, Bear. Sitting here loving you so much and wishing that I could take it all away; your allergies, your asthma, this virus, your entire medical walk. But I can't. All I can do is teach you and teach you well how to take care of yourself. And pray. I pray that this lessons over the years for you.
Daddy & I love you so much, Bear! So very, very much!!
~Mommy~
I pray you'll grow out of all your health problems one day honey. Love, Grandpa
