Watching Them Grow This blog chronicles our family life from late in 2006 until the end of 2010.
Our Journey to Jaden....the beginning. Our children were the catalysts to this journey. Read how how they knew what Scott and I didn't and how God used Valerie & Kevin to open our hearts to adding another child to our family.
China Adoption....Our Journey to Jaden Our family blog....the beginning.
This is the story that took us from a family of four to a multi-cultural family of six. Here you'll find the ups and downs of international adoption. The paperwork, the wait and then, finally, God's amazing gift at the end of the rainbow.
In my excitement I forgot to tell you about the picture that I posted. This is a picture of some of the people that we will possibly travel with to China. More importantly, these are our new found friends. On the left is Angela. She is married to Rich and they are waiting on their first child and are still working on picking out a name. In the back and to the right of Angela is Carrie and Bryan. They are also waiting on their first child and her name will be Lily Noelle. Next to Angela and in front of Carrie and Bryan is Keith Wallace. I spoke of him earlier in a post. He is the Executive Director of FTIA. He was honored recently by Congress for his work in the adoption community. A mighty man who does an awesome job! Next to my family is Chris and Julie. They are expecting their third child, Emma. They have a 12 and 10 year old at home who are anxiously waiting along with them. On the far right is Bob, Sandy and Paul. They are waiting on their second child and as far as I know have not picked a name yet. Paul was adopted from Russia and turned two recently. Did I mention what a cutie he is?! Those eyes get me every time I see him!
Oh, this is cool! I tried something really cool and went to the manual for this web blog and started reading. (There's an idea!!!) And now I've learned how to place pictures in my posts. One step closer to China! ;-)
Scott and I had the opportunity to go to Indianpolis this past weekend to meet up with some of our travel group. There were seven other couples that we met up with. Talk about a great group! We are going to have a great trip. There are several other couples who have two biological children and felt lead by God to pursue adoption. We have a lot in common with them. We plan to get together again at least 2 or 3 more times before travel. I can tell we're making some really great friends.
Valerie and Kevin stayed home with A. Sandy. They love staying there and love the Cocoa Puff cereal that she offers. Thank you Sandy for taking such great care of our children!
