Hi Baby Jaden,
School has started and we are in full swing with the school year. Valerie and Kevin are doing great adjusting to their new routine. Valerie is doing very well at getting up in the morning. We were concerned about that. (She's definitely a girl that LOVES her sleep!) The only thing missing in our routine is YOU!!
I imagine you in China with your crib mates and nannies near you. Of course at this age you're not involved with interactive play but I know that having the other children near by must be a comfort to you. I'm hoping that at least a couple of your crib mates will be adopted by families that we will travel with. Perhaps you will be able to grow up knowing some of those children into adulthood. We don't know what the future holds but your father and I pray that this important connection to your homeland will be a possibility.
Well, your room is getting close to being complete. We have had your carpet cleaned, painted your walls a pretty yellow, placed your furniture in the room and put your bedspread and pillows on your bed. We are waiting for your curtains, which are on backorder and we ordered wall letters that will spell your name out above your bed. Once we have those and a pack of diapers then your room should be ready. Your dresser is FULL thanks to Lynda York. I won't buy any more clothes until we receive information about your size.
Valerie and Kevin are using your bedroom as a play area. Dad told me that he was going to tell them not to do that and that he wanted your door to stay shut, in an attempt to keep it clean. I disagreed and asked him if it would be okay to let them play in your room. I think it helps them feel connected to you and feel the excitement of waiting for you. This morning when I was working out with my friend, Mrs. Detweiller, Kevin was standing in your doorway downstairs when we came down. I had already shown Mrs. Detweiller your room but he didn't know that. He proudly said, "Would you like to see my little sister's room?" Of course, she said yes and he went on to show off your room and your things. Last night we read our bedtime story in there and talked about how much we miss you! Dad took his nap in there today. Until you get here that's the only way we have to feel close to you.
Here's a note from Kevin: I love you, Jaden! I want to give you flowers and I love you the mostest. And you are the bestest sister in the whole wide world. I would like you to come to my Halloween party. I love you Jade!! Bye, Kevin.
Here's a note from your Dad: Hi Jaden, I love you sweetheart. I can't wait to meet you! Mommy and Daddy worked hard on your room and we are so excited to see you there. Valerie's art teacher, Mrs. Everette has left for China to pick up her daughter and I'm so envious, yet excited for her. I'm sure that we will get together with Mrs. Everette and her daughter sometime. I can't wait for the day that we get to travel to pick you up. Bye for now. I love you Sweetheart! Daddy
Here's a note from Valerie: I really like your room. It has your own crib and your own light. You have your own quilt, it is yellow. You have a trundle. You have your own flowers and dresser. There are going to be letters up on your wall that will say Jaden. Love, Valerie.
We miss you Jaden and are anxiously awaiting your arrival home! Enjoy your homeland and your friends.
Love,
Mommy, Daddy, Valerie and Kevin
