First of all, if I ever hear anyone who lives in the Ohio and Indiana area critisize Arkansas then I'll have to call them on it! I've lived in Pennsylvania and Northern Virginia. I've traveled extensively throughout the east coast and New England for work. I've seen pretty....really pretty. Lush green, lots of trees, hills and small mountains. Everything that western Ohio and Indiana are NOT! When I chose to move back "home" I knew that I was giving up some really good stuff. Mostly....trees and hills.
Actually, it's kind of ironic that we live in such a flat, flat, flat part of the country but our backyard (10 acres of it) has enough hills and valleys to give us fits in putting up swingsets, pools, trampolines and the like. We met with the landscape architect Tuesday morning and we think we might be able to get some of it leveled off when the pool goes in (more about the new landscaping and pool later.) I've digressed....
Arkansas is pretty, very pretty. Trees, hills, small mountains and water. It's pretty. I was able to experience this beauty first hand. Cindy asked if I wanted to climb Pinicle Mountain. Sure! :-/ I knew that it would be a challenge but I did it. Here are some pictures and some examples of beautiful Arkansas....
This was taken through the trees about halfway up the mountain.
Do you see those rocks that we were climbing?
Believe me, it's best that you can't see our sweaty faces in this picture. Just enjoy the view!
I made it!!! Look at that red face! What an accomplishment! Those are trees down there, not grass.
This is Cindy Woodall. This is the friend that showed me such a great time while I was in Arkansas.
Thank you again Cindy. I look forward to seeing you again on June 9th!
