Okay, lead in......We have known each other for twelve years, been married nine-and-a-half and have lived in this house (that Scott grew up in) for five-and-a-half years. How could we be this far along and just find out that we have the shoes that Scott was wearing when he was adopted?!
Scott came across these when cleaning out the attic for an auction that we're going to have next month. I thought we had dug through everything before. Apparently, we missed these.
When I came home from Arkansas these were sitting on the dryer. In typical Traci form I said, "Where are the old shoes from?" Scott kept working as he told me that he was wearing these when he was taken to the adoption office to meet his parents. He was one month short of four at that time. His name was still Timothy Haley when he was wearing these shoes...wow!
I'm not exactly sure what we'll do with these. I imagine combining these with the clothes and shoes that Jaden will be wearing when we meet her. We'll come up with something very cool. We're so grateful that Jaden will share the adoption experience with her Daddy! Scott doesn't know his birth parents either. We pray that this will be a comfort to her. Only time will allow us to know.....
I think I'll go find Scott's adoption paperwork. It's around here somewhere. I have seen that before!

Oh my gosh wouldn't it be neat to have a shadow box made for the shoes and then have them mounted in the box? Then if Jaden is wearing shoes have them incorporated in the box too? Maybe if she isn't wearing shoes the outfit she will be wearing?
I gound a Pitt freshman sweater at an antique store several years ago and I built a box (with some help) and mounted the sweater in it for Brian's 30th birthday. He absolutely loved it and it still hangs in his office.
