Today is Friday......a very big day for school children everywhere! Today is not just any Friday though. No, this is a special Friday. Today is a Friday in late April....a springtime Friday. The sun is shining, the wind is warm and the temperature is a perfect 70 degrees. This is the kind of Friday that holds promises....the promise that soon school will be out for the summer. Jenny came over after school and I have three children that are in the BEST kind of mood. A Springtime Friday Kind Of Mood!
Let me give some background for those who have never been to our house. We live on ten acres and about seven of that is farmed by our neighbor during the summer. But right now it's just open field. We have a fence in the backyard (soon to come down! yea!) and the kids have mostly played inside that fence or on the driveway since we moved here.......until today.
After school we came in the back door and one of them said, "Let's go down to the pond." In unison I heard, "Okay! Let's go!" They grabbed popcicles and said, "Bye Mom ~ we're going to the pond!" I just stood with my eyes wide and muttered something about being careful. They have NEVER done this before. We've gone to the pond, we've gone to the creek, they've even driven in the field, but it's always been together. I think our babies are growing up!

Here's a closeup of the previous shot! They were pretty far away! Those of you with older kids are laughing at me right now but I don't care! This was a big day for them. They are finally old enough to go enjoy the pond and creek and woods. How fun! It should be a good summer!
